Babe Ruth Prep League (13 Year Old Program) |
Players who will be 13 as of May 1, 2008 will compete on a 90-foot diamond. The purpose of this
league is to teach players the fundamentals of playing on a full-sized diamond with full baserunning
and pitching rules in place. The players are adjusting to a field that is 50% larger than the Cal Ripken
diamond. By comprising the league of players who are all the same age, the league ensures that
everyone learns and advances together. Balking is loosely enforced early in the season.
Babe Ruth Junior League (14-15 Year Old Program) |
Players aged 14 and 15 as of May 1, 2008 will compete on a 90-foot diamond. Since players are now
experienced playing on a larger diamond, coaching and instruction are centered on more advanced,
strategic concepts. Balking is enforced. Players are expected to fully understand all game rules.
Advanced game tactics are employed by coaches.
